Introduction to My SEO Adventure

This is a blog I'm making about my SEO adventure, where I work on SEO for my sites and the sites of my clients, and share the results, tips, and things I've learned along the way with you (that is if this site ever ranks and people actually find it and read it).

Right now, some of the sites I'm working on are Earwood and Moore, Best Hosting Sites, play free games,  and I'll do some work on my SEO Service site. I may throw in a few links here n there to some other sites, but these are the main ones I'm focusing on right now.

SEO AdventureNow, my SEO services site, KickSEO.net, already has a decent PR, but not many of the others on the list do. The challenge with it is the sheer volume of competition with that niche. I've got Earwood and Moore on page one for several keywords, but my challenge with it is to get it ranked for searches that aren't exactly worded on the site. For example they service franklin NC, but nowhere on the site does it say Franklin Attorney or Attorney in Franklin. That doesn't look too attractive on the site, even though that's what would be searched on google. My hosting sites list is already a friend of page one and two, but I need it to do higher on page one for "best hosting sites" and steadily on the top pages for "hosting sites". The challenge with it is that it is also very heavy competition. The slightest change can tank it, I changed the text on the page and it sank to page 8 so lets be careful with that one.

With google's new unannounced update on linking, they will penalize for too many targeted backlinks so I have to use a lot more random anchor text on all of my sites. (Anchor text is the text in the link, like the link above that says Earwood and Moore). With google's other updates, comment spamming is off limits if you want to keep any ranking. You also can't make forum posts/profiles and spam because their algorithms are picking that up too. This means that everything I do I have to do manually, randomly, and I have to do a lot of emphasis on social sharing too. SEO is such a bitch these days, but once you hit page one you want more of it, believe me.

So, my solution, I'm going to do about 40% targeted backlinks and the rest random "Click Here" type links. I can also choose from a variety of keywords for a keyword rich page like Digital Arcade Zone. There are plenty of keywords in the niche and on the page for me to go after. For sites like KickSEO or Best Hosting Sites, there aren't enough keywords I can target so I'll be doing a lot of mixed random links. Since I can't do spam, I have to manually create original content, like the content here. This post has taken me about 30 minutes to write, so I can do 2 pages per hour unless I speed through it. Now, if I make an image (probably about to) it will add some searchable content but take me an extra few minutes, but I think the image will be worth it. What do you  think?

Anyway, this is my SEO adventure for now, until my next post (Because each consecutive post will boost my ranking and credibility so the links on this blog will get more attention).
